My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

I acknowledged myself as a Deaf person of colour of Afro-Cuban and Native American/or First American Descent
Currently lives in Bellingham, WA. Received Master's in Transpersonal Psychology  from Sofia University (Palo Alto, CA). Actively pursuing Ph.D in Transformative Studies at California Institute of Integral  Studies (CIIS)(San Francisco, CA).

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

It is my personal belief that change starts within self first and everything changes around self afterwards. What I meant by that statement is that you, me and everyone are accountable for own individual transformative process in order to be fiercely compassionate about being more understanding of where everyone is coming from individually and collectively. That is how we can begin embracing the contributorship equity in  every single person in existence regardless of their reality experience.

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

It is my goal to inpower Deaf Black Indigenous People of Colour (DBBIPOC*) and their solidarity agents of change to be transformative stewards through social entrepreneurship education, growth mindset workshops, mindfulness trainings, co-creation of solidarity economic opportunities and co-facilitation of intergroup dialogues.

How I Spend My Free Time:

Reading books (they do blow my mind if they are thought-provoking), colouring mandalas, engaging in deep conversations, dancing to Afro beats (good for the soul), and keeping my mind, heart & soul healthy to keep myself youthful inside.

My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

I acknowledged myself as Deaf Non-binary Asian Chinese and Taiwanese descent. I am from Vancouver, BC. I graduated from Vancouver Community college with Deaf and ASL Studies degree.

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

On my journey, I've had struggled to understand my identity, my privilege, and my realistic expectation. By the ongoing struggle in the "reality", I am stuck in the dream, which is a thick fog cycle of being stuck, trapped and blind of the society. Guiding to the need to end the struggle is working on myself to unpack internalized, unhealthy behavior.

After my awareness gained, I decide to reach out to find the solutions by dismantling and transforming from dream into my reality with my soul family. This wisdom author,  Don Miguel Ruiz, I want to honor and share some of his quotes from his book called The Four Agreements

He had discovered that he was a mirror for the rest

of the people, a mirror in which he could see himself.

"Everyone is a mirror," he said.

He saw himself in everyone, but nobody saw him as themselves.

And he realized that everyone was dreaming, but with

out awareness, without knowing what they really are. They couldn't see him as

themselves because there was a wall of fog or smoke

between the mirrors.

And that wall of fog was made by the interpretation of images of light

— the Dream of humans.

Then he knew that he would soon forget all that he had learned.

He wanted to remember all the visions he had had, so he decided to call

himself the Smokey Mirror so that he would always know that matter is

a mirror and the smoke in-between is what keeps us from knowing what we are.

He said, I am the Smokey Mirror, because

I am looking at myself in all of you, but we don't recognize each other because of the smoke in-between us.

That smoke is the Dream,

and the mirror is you,

the dreamer."

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

Why join Cascadia Deaf Nation? I would like to re-connect what is the human connection within the Deaf and hearing world. I am in this journey that I believe in solidarity and reclaim back the highest power to where it belongs. I have learned a lot towards myself and the people I am with. I would like to understand what can I empower with Deaf Black Indigenous People of Colour* (DBIPOC*). I am encouraging and acknowledging to analyze the intersectionality and learn the ways of unpacking self in order to embrace the work about the power of WITH generation and not the ME or FOR.

How I Spend My Free Time:

I enjoy watching action thought-provoking movies and TV shows. I also enjoy dialoguing in with heart-to-heart conversations with my soul family.

In my time alone, I enjoy cooking creative food, drawing art and writing poetry.

My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

I am originally from Florida. I currently live in Washington State. My pronouns are: Coci, She, Her. I identify as Pansexual and Demisexual.

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

I have gained the wisdom of being a stewarding warrior from experiencing many life challenges. How did I become the person I am today? Despite the fact that I have dealt with various toxic situations in my life, I chose to be compassionate to fight against injustices by studying laws and hidden histories of this country. With my deep relationship with Universe, I was guided to become part of the Stewardship team at Cascadia Deaf Nation. While becoming a first year of a Stewarding Leader, I grew and thrived because the people I worked with have healthy growth mindsets. It made me appreciate stewardship accountability on every levels. I look forward to deepen my creativity as well as to deepen my stewarding leadership in thriving spaces in Cascadia Deaf Nation and outside Cascadia Deaf Nation.

Life Changing Poem: Still I Rise by Maya Angelou (29-43)

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

This is my embraced identity: I acknowledge myself as a Deaf Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC); West African with Ghanaian roots who was born and raised in Bronx, New York. I am thriving in Bellingham, WA.

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

I have been observing how the experience of interaction with people at school, outside of school and out in the real world over the years which have the lifetime impact on my journey. The exposure to the real world have showed me that people including me have not develop the healthy habits to contemplate on things, to unpack the internalizations, to develop healthy mindsets, to show healthy approaches towards important conversations, and to identify unhealthy habits. I recognized that our current system is riddled with a lot of oppression including racism and it is failing us repeatedly. We need to stand up and speak out to be ourselves, to preserve our human rights, to maintain critical voices, and to allow us to have thriving opportunities to co-create changes together.

On my current journey, I acknowledge that I am willing to improve the need to work on myself by gaining healthy habits to take care of myself, to listen to the inner and outer guidance to embraces the inner and outer challenges I have, to transform challenges into strengths, and to be more aware of what is happening around me and within myself.

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

My stewarding vision as a Stewarding Leader of Cascadia Deaf Nation (CDN) to demonstrate that I am determined to fight for our collective liberation by guiding people to become more aware of the bias, express our rights without fear, dismantle the barriers to allow us thrive together, and share journey experience with each other which is essential for our collective growth.
