My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

I acknowledged myself as a Deaf person of colour of Afro-Cuban and Native American/or First American Descent
Currently lives in Bellingham, WA. Received Master's in Transpersonal Psychology  from Sofia University (Palo Alto, CA). Actively pursuing Ph.D in Transformative Studies at California Institute of Integral  Studies (CIIS)(San Francisco, CA).

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

It is my personal belief that change starts within self first and everything changes around self afterwards. What I meant by that statement is that you, me and everyone are accountable for own individual transformative process in order to be fiercely compassionate about being more understanding of where everyone is coming from individually and collectively. That is how we can begin embracing the contributorship equity in  every single person in existence regardless of their reality experience.

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

It is my goal to inpower Deaf Black Indigenous People of Colour (DBIPOC*) and their solidarity agents of change to be transformative stewards through social entrepreneurship education, growth mindset workshops, mindfulness trainings, co-creation of solidarity economic opportunities and co-facilitation of intergroup dialogues.

How I Spend My Free Time:

Reading books(they do blow my mind if they are thought provoking), colouring mandalas, engaging in deep conversations, dancing to Afro beats (good for the soul), and keeping my mind, heart & soul healthy to keep myself youthful inside.

My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

Jessica identifies as DeafPoC ENBY(Non-binary) Asian Chinese and Taiwanese, gender neutral. Born and live in Vancouver, BC. Graduated from Vancouver Community College (VCC) with a degree in ASL and Deaf Studies. Enjoys being an embodiment of empowerment as one of the stewarding BC leaders of Cascadia Deaf Nation(CDN).

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

Back in my childhood times, I used to believe the idea of living is to be happy and also feeling of being liberated is all I have to build and work on. However, these goals were the limitations and that has to change. In order to be happy and feel liberated, we must work together collectively to fight back against the system we choose to enable and disempower all of us. We are not free till all of us are free. And I look forward to dismantling the system together. I am the WE generation. Their fight is my fight. My fight is their fight too.

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

Why join Cascadia Deaf Nation? I would like to re-connect what is the human connection within the Deaf and hearing world. I am in this journey that I believe in solidarity and reclaim back the highest power to where it belongs. I have learned a lot towards myself and the people I am with. I would like to understand what can I empower with Deaf Black Indigenous People of Colour* (DBIPOC*). I am encouraging and acknowledging to analyze the intersectionality and learn the ways of unpacking self in order to embrace the work about the power of WITH generation and not the ME or FOR.

How I Spend My Free Time:

Enjoys cooking, making art, poetry with love and dialoguing to deep heart to heart conversation.

My Journey of Embracing Own Reality Experience:

I am originally from Florida. I currently live in Washington State. My pronouns are: Coci, She, Her. I identify as Pansexual and Demisexual.

My Current Process of Understanding Reality:

I have gained the wisdom of being a stewarding warrior from experiencing many life challenges. How did I become the person I am today? Despite the fact that I have dealt with various toxic situations in my life, I chose to be compassionate to fight against injustices by studying laws and hidden histories of this country. With my deep relationship with Universe, I was guided to become part of the Stewardship team at Cascadia Deaf Nation. While becoming a first year of a Stewarding Leader, I grew and thrived because the people I worked with have healthy growth mindsets. It made me appreciate stewardship accountability on every levels. I look forward to deepen my creativity as well as to deepen my stewarding leadership in thriving spaces in Cascadia Deaf Nation and outside Cascadia Deaf Nation.

Life Changing Poem: Still I Rise by Maya Angelou (29-43)

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

My Stewardship Vision for CDN:

While being a Stewarding Leader during the first year, I grew and thrived because the people I worked with have healthy growth mindsets. It made me appreciate stewardship accountability on every levels. I look forward to deepen my creativity as well as to deepen my stewarding leadership in thriving spaces in Cascadia Deaf Nation and outside Cascadia Deaf Nation.

How I Spend My Free Time:

In process of achieving my current goal): Travel to several different countries; plan to attend college to receive degrees in different respective fields; become part of different communities in solidarity). Last, but not least, staying with Cascadia Deaf Nation for a long time.
